About the app
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no account. Open the app, answer one question about your Spanish, and start reading.
Is it free?
Yes, Storiwick is free to download, and all of its current features are free. A Premium subscription with more new stories is planned. If we add it, the price and terms will be shown before you buy anything.
Does it work offline?
The stories that come with the app work without an internet connection. You need a connection to download new stories. Once a story is downloaded, it works offline too.
How are the stories made?
The stories and their audio are made with AI tools and checked before they're added to the app. If you find a mistake, a translation that seems wrong, or a word that sounds wrong, please email us with the story title and the sentence. We fix it for everyone.
How do I change my level?
Go to Settings and choose another level. The app also moves your level with how each story went.
Your progress
Your progress, your words and your settings are kept only on your phone. We never receive them, so we cannot restore them for you. Your phone's own backup is what carries them to a new phone.
I got a new phone. Will my progress come with me?
Yes, if you set up the new phone from a backup of the old one, made with iCloud Backup on iPhone or Google's backup on Android, and backup was turned on. You get back your progress as it was at the last backup.
What is not brought back
- Moving between iPhone and Android. Progress does not move from an iPhone to an Android phone, or the other way round. You start again on the new phone.
- Deleting and reinstalling on iPhone. Deleting the app on an iPhone deletes your progress, and reinstalling it does not bring it back. If you need space, use Offload App (Settings → General → iPhone Storage) instead: it keeps your progress, and it comes back when you reinstall. Restoring the whole iPhone from a backup also brings back your progress as it was at that backup.
- Uninstalling and reinstalling on Android. Reinstalling the app brings back your last backup, if one has run. Progress since then is not brought back.
- Recent progress. Phones usually back up about once a day. Anything you did after the last backup is not restored.
- Backup turned off. If your phone's backup is off, there is nothing to restore.
- Downloaded stories. Stories you downloaded are not part of the backup, to keep it small. Your progress in them comes back; download the stories again to read them.
How do I start over?
Settings → Reset all progress. This clears the stories you have read, your words and your settings. It cannot be undone.
Privacy
